Old fashioned Munich hospitality along with great Bavarian regional cuisine is what you’ll find at the Der Pschorr restaurant. Situated next to the Viktualienmarkt, Munich’s largest food market and the Schrannenhalle, the old corn market, Der Pschorr is an old favourite of the area, the meeting place for many a local and a favourite of tourists. Named after Jospeh Pschorr, the inventor of beer cooling, some 200 years ago, this great Bavarian eatery plays host to visitors from all over the world, original characters of Munich, university students and business men who meet at their regular tables for a chat, clink glasses of fresh, cool Hacker-Pschorr Edelhell beer and enjoy some fine cuisine of the region - veal sausages, steaks, pretzels and specials such as Lugeders duck with potato dumplings and red cabbage or roast pork with bread dumplings and bacon and cabbage salad. The beer cellar accommodates 60 people with its ice cooled beer barrels and the beer garden is open during the summer months. Der Pschorr really does need no introduction, it is that well known and well loved that any visitor to Munich will most surely enter through its doors.
