The Neideck restaurant in Cologne is a wonderful bistro style Italian restaurant that has become a firm favourite among the city’s residents. Serving mostly north Italian cuisine, Mario Neideck has created a gem of a restaurant that has gained a regular clientele over the years. A casual-chic bistro style sets the scene with warm deep red walls, blackboards featuring the daily specials , black and white floors and white chairs contrasted by black tables. The terrace is intimate and a real little suntrap in the summer. Fresh, seasonal produce cooked with love and care is the motto at Neideck and this is certainly the case. The menu changes weekly and offers everything from barbarie duck breast served on a goat’s cheese, zucchini and avocado salad to gnocchi with lamb strips and olives to parrot fish with cucumber and celery fettuccine. The wine list perfectly compliments the menu with some classic Italian wines featured. Although on the small side, Neideck is well loved for its delicious food and charming atmosphere.
