The Vintage Restaurant und Weinhandel- (wine trader) is a stylish and very popular Mediterranean restaurant found in the centre of Cologne. Based in one of Germany’s principal cities for restaurants and bars, the Vintage Restaurant und Weinhandel is a unique establishment in that it is not just a restaurant but also boasts a shop, nightclub, offers seminars and outside catering. Owners Claudia and Michael Stern have created a fascinating place which devotes itself to the joys of food and of course wine. The interior is a large room with bottles of wine absolutely everywhere, decorating each and every wall, but are well arranged in beautiful units or shelves giving a sense of order. The wine list here is as you can imagine immense and you’ll never see so many German varieties in your life. There is a vast selection of champagnes and cavas as well with something for everyone. As far as the food goes, the flavours are Mediterranean in style and the ingredients used are as fresh as can be. The set menus are fantastic - carpaccio of wild salmon with chive vinaigrette followed by scaloppine of veal in lemon sauce with ratatouille and sage gnocchi finishing with tiramisu with berries and fruits- being just one of the many menus to choose from. Vintage Restaurant und Weinhandel is proving to be one of Cologne’s best culinary offerings and of course is a must for all wine connoisseurs.
